hi I’m me
I’m Cecilia, a 20 y/o 🇵🇱🏳️⚧️ doggirl. I use she/her and it/its pronouns.
I currently live in a small town in northwestern Poland. legally speaking it’s a city, but I wouldn’t call it one. I also have crippling ADHD, so staying focused on one thing for longer than a day is a challenge for me. both a blessing and a curse.
I also have a lovely girlfriend.
education
I studied “programming” (mostly very basic and outdated webdev, some C# in the later years) for 5 years at a technical high school in my hometown, and I graduated in May 2025. those 5 years didn’t bring me much, since these courses were still relatively new here and my teachers didn’t really know what they were doing, but at least I walked away with some qualifications. they look nice on paper.
things I do
as you can probably guess, I write a good bit of code. mostly C++ and C#, sometimes Rust, and very rarely Python or Lua. my first attempt at learning programming was making addons for Garry’s Mod using Lua, which didn’t really get anywhere. sometime around 2018-ish, I took the plunge into learning C++ to make Half-Life mods. I’d say it paid off, even if I’m now semi-permanently stuck with 1998-level “C with classes” brainrot.
sometimes I’ll also dabble in reverse engineering, though I’m still very much a beginner and reading things without symbols or some kind of reference melts my brain a little.
most of my experience comes from modding games made on Valve’s GoldSrc and Source engines, as well as Unity using BepInEx. sometimes I make more original things in Godot, and I once tried to make a game engine using SDL and OpenGL. turns out that’s a bad idea when you don’t know what you’re doing. got a camera flying around and some custom shaders running though, that was cool. other than video games, I occasionally dabble in making web things (like this site). the state of webdev in CURRENT_YEAR scares me a little (just one more JS framework), so I tend to stick to static pages or very simple web apps. when I was still in school we also learned the basics of managing databases and making mobile stuff, but I’ve never done anything with that outside of class assignments. just never had a project idea that could actually make use of that.
making 3D models is something I’m very bad at, but thoroughly enjoy doing. mostly hard surface, things like props and environment pieces. I want to branch out into making characters eventually though. also don’t trust anyone telling you Blender is hard to learn or use. it’s very simple. 3D art is not though.
other than technowizardry, I like expressing my often complicated thoughts and feelings through drawing and writing. I don’t do this nearly enough though. maybe with this website up I’ll finally start putting my art up for people other than my partner and close friends to see.
I’m also interested in making music, but I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, and my brain very quickly liquifies the second I open up a DAW or tracker or anything of the sort.
most of my work before mid-late 2025 never saw the light of day, some of it got passed over to friends who could actually make use of it, and a few projects slipped through the cracks and ended up being publicly released. lately I’ve been trying to make more of my work public though. FOSS is good.
things I like
if that wasn’t telling enough, I really like video games. I like playing them, learning how they’re made, poking at their internals, and occasionally modding them or making my own. my always present feeling of nostalgia usually makes me orbit around games made around the mid 90’s to the early 2010’s. they just don’t make ‘em like they used to. or something.
I couldn’t exist without music. it takes up the free space in my brain, letting me actually focus on things. I don’t really have any favorite genres or anything, I kinda just listen to whatever. if I had to list genres though, they’d probably be IDM, DSBM, punk, jungle (really any kind of drum n bass), and PS1-era game soundtracks. sometimes I’ll also listen to the occasional sad indie album with a total of 12 listeners (iykyk), whatever nu-metal gets shoved into my face, oldschool rap, or the bands your parents listened to growing up.
furry art is neat. drawings, music, games, whatever. it’s usually some of the most raw, honest self-expression and storytelling I get to experience, and I love it for that.
if you would like to see my recommendations on games, music, or whatever else I enjoy, check out my blog! I have a post I’ll update with things I recommend, and if something tickles my brain particularly well, I’ll probably write a blog post entirely dedicated to it.
why are you like this
no idea. just came outta the factory like this.
ok so why did I read all of that
if you feel like you just wasted your time, then close this tab and move on with your day.
if you found any of this interesting, uh, thanks I guess!
and if you found it extra interesting and want to get in touch with me for whatever reason, feel free to shoot me an email or use these so-called “socials”. I prefer email.
