Playing Resident Evil: Cold Blood

Playing Resident Evil: Cold Blood isn't exactly like, say, playing Half Life DM. In fact, the two are almost nothing alike. RECB is s slower paced game, one that relies on teamwork to survive. This section will touch upon the various changes in Resident Evil: Cold Blood.

First off, Death.

In Resident Evil: Cold Blood, death is final. When you die, you will fall to the ground, the screen will fade out and the words "You Died" will be displayed. You won't see anything else until the map changes. You can take this time to catch up on some literature (You know, those book things), surf the web, make a sandwich, or join another game.

NOTE: If you leave and rejoin, you will lose all weaponry you collected. On the plus side, if you REALLY want to play with your friends, we won't bar you from leaving and joining again.

Second: The Interface

1: Health Meter. This will change from Fine (Good Health) to Caution (Ooh, somewhat hurt. Might want to look out for some healing items) to Danger (Get medical attention NOW!)

2: Ammo Display. Nothing new to see here.

3: The crosshair... or lack of. See, in Resident Evil: Cold Blood, you don't get fine things such as a crosshair. With scarce ammo, you might want to make sure every shot hits dead on.

4: Enemy. This is a zombie. You'll be seeing a lot of them around. Might want to do something about it. Remember, aim for the head.

Aiming

In Resident Evil: Cold Blood, you have no crosshair. This makes acquiring scoped weapons much more important. Remember, time your shots, and make every single one count.

Player Interactions and Such

First off, in Resident Evil: Cold Blood, friendly fire is disabled. Consider trying to attack your friends a waste of valuable ammunition.

The AdLib System

Now, the Cold Blood team has implemented something called the "AdLib" system. In short, it allows players to easily communicate with two keystrokes. Much like the "Radio" system in Counter Strike, the AdLib system uses prerecorded voices to inform other players on what is going on ingame. (Default button is "z")

NOTE: You can still use the chat system and VOIP communication (Unlike a certain Resident Evil game we all know and love. =))
