Here's the original, 1.0 mod release of Cry of Fear, along with the 1.55 patch.

THIS WILL NOT RUN ON MODERN STEAM HALF-LIFE, AND OVERWRITING YOUR STEAM COF INSTALL WILL CAUSE ISSUES.
Here's how to properly run this:

1) Download the SourceRuns GoldSrc Package from here: https://forums.sourceruns.org/t/goldsrc-package-2-4/2634
2) Extract it into a new folder, separate from your CoF/Half-Life installs
3) Install CoF 1.0 and, optionally, also the patch, into "Half-Life WON" (this isn't actually a WON build, just pre-steampipe)
4) Make a shortcut to that folder's "hl.exe" and add the following launch parameters:
	-game CryOfFear -hw -heapsize 1536000 -num_edicts 4096

Optionally, also add these to force a custom resolution:
	-width YOUR_WIDTH_HERE -height YOUR_HEIGHT_HERE

You can also add the following to "fix" the forced mouse acceleration:
	-noforcemparams -noforcemspeed -noforcemaccel

Here's an example set of launch parameters:
	-game CryOfFear -hw -heapsize 1536000 -num_edicts 4096 -noforcemparams -noforcemspeed -noforcemaccel -width 2560 -height 1440

You can now launch Cry of Fear from this shortcut.
And no, this build of Half-Life will not run if you don't own Half-Life on Steam. You still need a legal copy of the game for this to work.
